Small Tortoiseshell Encounter at Amerton Farm (24th July 2014)

Whether I am at work, out shopping or on a girly outing, for me no day is complete without some kind of wildlife sighting.

During a visit to Amerton Farm in Staffordshire, I was strolling around the indoor craft and garden centre with my sister when I saw some movement on the floor. I noticed it was a tortoiseshell butterfly covered in dust and struggling to find her bearings. Of course, I was then on a ‘mission’ as my sister calls it. I managed to catch the butterfly, dust her off and put her outside on a buddleia plant.
