Setting the alarm for 5am on a very chilly February morning, I was feeling positive that we were going to see some owls that day. We headed to a place called Lunt Meadows in Merseyside. We arrived at around 7am, and by 11am we were sitting in a pub called The Meadows having a bite to eat, charging our camera battery and realising the early start was well worth it!
We were rewarded with sightings of short-eared owls, barn owls and even a pair of cheeky little owls, my favourite species of owl.
We spotted the barn owl later in the morning. By this point, my fingers were so numb I couldn’t even click the shutter on my camera quick enough. Luckily John was able to get this amazing shot…
- Grey Partridge
- Pink Footed Goose
- Barn Owl
- Little Owl
- Short-eared Owl (winter)
