We set off to a farmer’s field near Cockerham Moss in Lancashire in hope of seeing a rare bird; the red-breasted goose. The field was a haven for geese; pink-footed and white fronted geese were in abundance. Searching for one rare goose amongst them was going to be a challenge. Despite its bright colours and strong patterns, the red-breasted goose was surprisingly difficult to spot amongst the more drab looking geese on the field. Luckily though, although quite a distance away, we managed to get our record shot and another first for me!
