Dipper and Mandarin Duck

Name: Dipper/Mandarin Duck

Place: Llangollen

Date: 10th April 2017

Time: 5.00pm

Weather: Cloudy

Running alongside a river in Llangollen sits a lovely little restaurant called ‘The Corn Mill.’ We have sat many times on the decking outside in brilliant sunshine and even huddled together under an umbrella in the rain. Why? The dipper that inhabits the river there. On our last visit, although we could not get a photograph, we managed to see this dipper feeding a youngster underneath the boardwalk.

We also saw a very eye-catching Mandarin duck. They were introduced to the UK from China and have become established following escapes from captivity.
